You don't have to get a set of wheels for the vehicle just refurbish the 20's on the car to your liking.for about $500-600 you can have the as good as new. I redid mine in a Lexus IF color which looks awesome on the 20's but not as bright as the factory silver wheel.
Yeah it has some off brand wheels on it. Is anyone in the San Rafael area that could maybe look at it?

What do you guys think. I will need a set of wheels but other than that the car looks complete.
If this is a personal vehicle see if the plate is shown in the pics. I have unlimited plate carfax's for a bit longer I think and can run it. Vin checks dont show shit on a car.

EDIT: cant even get to carfax login page to verify anything right now seems like its down

EDIT#2: finally able to get into carfax and pull report. Car had a wreck with first owner which was a personal lease. Minimal records/work shown on carfax. Current owner if this is right only had it for 6mo and there is an open air bag recall.

Edit 3: Sure hope you have deep pockets if you decide to grab this thing or really good at DIY. As I said before I'd walk away, your trying to fit a square peg in a round hole here.

You could say that I am DIY+. It appears there was an accident but a 3 owner car in CA that is 14 years old is getting rare. Square pegs in round holes are something of a habit of mine, like building a turbo S50 E30. hahaha I guess I will find out if he is legit.

Ahhhhh. You're THAT BMW_TUNER. Pretty sure I've seen your e30 on r3v then.

@ $5000, you should be okay so long as you have a $2000-3000 cushion to bring things up to spec. Usual used BMW purchase strategy really.

I do remember that when you found your X5 4.8is Imola it wasn't exactly filthy and neglected. And from where you have taken it from where it has come from. Well thats just impressive.
Touche. You're very right, my 4.8is purchase was a purchase of the heart much less than a purchase of the head. Made all the traditional car buying mistakes. Bought sight unseen, paid before even seeing the car, trusted it would make it 2000 miles home, lol and the list goes on. I saw all the Dinan stuff and the imola red and got blinded to reason.

Thank you for the compliment Jay, the X is definitely a favorite thing of mine to spend money on.

Took the long drive and looked at the steaming pile of wreckage that the X5 4.6is in San Rafael was. It was hit so hard in the front that they replaced the hood the fenders the bumper the core support and then mid door and it also got hit in the rear as well. Paint was not properly bonded and the car was a mess overall junk would even give him 1k for it. The hunt continues.

That one must have something wrong with it. It sold in LA a few weeks ago and now it's back up for sale.

Officially broadening search beyond the blue as it is both hard to find and subject to adhesion issues. New criteria is-

4.4 or 4.6 Tow package and well taken care of anybody in the area of Nevada or California who has one they are going to let go please PM me.
