Sounds like you are confusing the comfort glass and rain sensing system. The comfort glass blocks those signals you have mentioned. It has cutouts by the rear view mirror and down by the corners. I believe the rain sensing system is just a single sensor located in the rear view mirror. I have the rain sensing system but not comfort glass.

The window failed on Friday and I had it fixed by 5pm Sunday. Amazon Prime is amazing!

I also discovered a method for a future mod. While removing the door panel, I accidentally broke the plastic trail for the orange LED that is built into the interior door handle. While the parts were in transit I glued it back together with Loctite Clear gel superglue. Not only does the light work, it works better! It is noticeably brighter than the other three and I can now clearly see the door handle at night with the lights on.
