If you save it to seat memory, would it stop moving? Or is it programmed to move up and way anytime any driver gets in and out?

When you turn off ignition the steering wheel rises to highest position so it's easier to get out and back in. So a built in feature. As a default on E53 the up/down movement for easy entry is set active but the in/out movement not active.

Ditto my 2002 4.4. Works currently, but has been inop in the past. Specifically for the time the seat controller was broken. Once I replaced that with an ebay unit the up/down as well as in/out started working again.

As does my 2001...sometimes, whenever it feels like it.

For the last few months, my steering wheel and drivers's seat will move around as I unlock the truck with my remote, but never move as I get out. Though I re-programmed the seat buttons several times, it still hunts for position for a few seconds. However, since I'm the sole driver, the wheel and the seat always are in my favored position before I sit down. ??? Doesn't matter if I use my original diamond key remote (with chip), or my E-bay key (without chip inside).

Another thing: the passenger-side mirror sometimes dips when backing, then resumes its' normal position going forward, but at other times, the resumed position is way-off. So, lately, I've disabled the mirror dip, so I don't have to reposition the mirror while driving...not a big deal.

I read zcs from cluster and then tried coding the new module, no luck. Has some kind of protection

Could you give a bit more specs. What error does NCS give you? Did you try to write VIN on it first?

Clavurion I ended up burning my rear hatch lock because of the wrong GM.
Now I'm scared to try again lol.
I was trying to code GM5 for E53 2002, instead of GM3.
As you said it's backwards compatible.
I may give it another shot and see what error I get.

So you tried to install GM5 from E46 or E83?

Sorry no, my bad, it's actually GM3.
It's the exact unit from my post #9.
I was thinking GM5 because they have similar outer cover, but it's actually GM3.
GM5 has different connectors, and I wouldn't be able to do that with GM5.
I'll try again and post the error message.

Tried connecting it again, and 4 way flashers were flashing, could not turn them off. Reconnected one more time, and seems fine, hazard lights were off.
Also heard a click from my trunk. I don't know if this module is coded differently, or these GM3 modules without fins come from facelift version.
But thats how I burned my trunk actuator last time.
The top portion would not open, but when I pressed the button to open it, the bottom tailgate would open.
But since the top lid wouldn't open, I couldn't open the trunk before pulling the manual plastic string.
