General Module GM3 upgrade

My auto steering wheel makes me mad (I mean auto tilting during each ignition on/off). As far as I know it is possible to disable this function by coding in NCS Expert using EINSTIEGSHILFE_HOEHE and EINSTIEGSHILFE_LAENGE options, am I right? And am I right that these options are available only in facelifted E53's?
If so is it possible to upgrade GM3 module in pre-facelift X5 to the module from facelifted car? I'm aware that for sure ncs expert coding will be necessary but are these modules compatible with each other or maybe this kind of upgrade is not possible at all?

Just check the part numbers of the GM of the facelifted with the prefacelifted. If the numbers differ then more than likely they are different. I would be surprised if the modules between the two series are the same since different engines and transmissions were used between them.

Yes, part numbers are different and there are differences in hardware, that's why I'm asking if it's possible to swap them
Engine and tranny have nothing to do with GM I guess.

Yeah but your talking about two different series of X5 E53s. There were a lot of changes between the pre facelifted and facelift X5s. For example charging modules on the these vehicles are different. You are going to want to use a GM for that year vehicle and features.

I have a pre-facelift without the auto tilting. Are you sure it can't be disabled?

If I am not wrong it's called Comfort Access and it's an option you can disable in PA Soft 1.4.

New modules are backwards compatible.
