1st e53 3rd BMW couldn't be happier!

Put my permanent license plates on my new (to me x5) 2004 3.0 I am absolutely loving it so far! This is my 3rd car and 3rd BMW, my first was a 1976 bmw 2002 bought it as a project and the picture of it is how it was when I sold it. The second was a 2001 330ci did some mods to that one nothing to crazy. Now on to the x5 originally I was looking at trucks (wanted something to pull a camper for a few road trips) didn't need anything with a huge towing capacity as its a pretty light home built teardrop trailer. I looked at a few Chevys and Toyotas but I didn't want to get away from BMW's, I looked at a 4.4 and I liked it but it needed some major work so I found a great deal on my 3.0 and I figured since I had owned one car already with the same engine and I knew my way around it pretty well it was perfect. I am now looking for a tow hitch for the new x but I am loving my purchase after the first month!

Congratulations and welcome. Always nice to see another (sorta) local on the boards. Also digging the trailer.

Good luck on the tow hitch - the OEMs are a challenge to find and install but well worth it compared to the aftermarket. I did mine a few months back and am glad of it.

Thank you! When I had my e46 and 2002 it was nearly impossible to find anyone around the area, glad to see some other e53 owners in the PNW!
