Yes it was your posts here that got me thinking about it. I will check if the FSU is warm when I start my diagnostic work.

Anyone that could possibly verify if their X turns on the AC on startup even if it was shut off the last time it was used?

Rear OS tail light has no voltage (black/blue wire) while other side is fine!!
I think at this point my X goes to sleep, at least the light by the shifter goes off and was off the few times I checked randomly.

I do have a license plate light warning since I put LED's there, even with monitoring coded off.

Yes AC comes on when you turn the key to ignition, that's normal. Mine does the same.

It's an option that can be coded. AC on: off or last used. Mine was coded to start with AC off

Thank you gents for clarifying the AC thing.

One thing though, I noticed that if I shut off the car and turn it on again, AC does NOT come on?

Anyway, I didnt feel like unloading the back and hooking up a DMM to the battery just yet. I did remove every fuse related to the radio and telephone system in the trunk first, and checking voltage on the OBC.

At shutoff I usually have 12.4-12.6v. After 2 days I was at 12.1

Still not good enough I think, really need to find the time to hook up the DMM.

It is? I hope so!

I used the X today and when I got home it was at 12.6. Will let it sit longer and check voltage again. Dont have time yet to do a proper check with a DMM.

Something else popped up though, lost the turn signal indicator and audible clicking when I use my turn signals/hazard lights. Quick search says cluster. Argh.

So turn signals don't work?
It's a BMW, which makes them optional.....

Although I do agree it sounds like your K-bus signal is getting interrupted

EODguy, that is what pisses me off, signal light is barely used and still craps out.

"use it or lose it".

Kidding aside wiring gremlins are an age issue as much as a wear issue
