Driver's door damage...advice needed

Hi all,
I returned to my parked car last week to find that someone had somehow damaged my driver's door. There's been a sharp impact on the molding, as there's a visible notch in it, but the main prole is that enough pressure has been applied to force the metal of the door inwards into a shallow bowl. It's not huge, and my wife tells me that it's hardly noticeable...but she's wrong. It's ruined the lines of the car, and it needs sorting.
So, some advice please. I reckon I can pull/push this misshapen panel back into its proper shape, but what's my best option? Here are my 3 thoughts so far:
1. Remove the inner door panel to allow me to push the dent out. Main problem here, having watched some youtube videos about the door panels is that even with it off, I don't think I'm going to have access to the outer skin due to all the gear inside the door

which leaves me with the 'pull' options:

2. Pry off the molding at the point of impact and slide something behind it to pull with, or

3. Screw a small screw into the molding that I can get hold of with pliers to pull on

I've never attempted anything like this before, and this might all be utter madness, so I'm throwing it out there for your collective thoughts and ideas please.
Are there any other potential solutions that I'm missing?

Cheers,
wadjssd

Photo will be very helpful. There are products to solve this including one that glues a little disc to the dent so you can pull from the outside. Big enough you can use a suction cup

depends on the damage, but I've seen some PDR guys do wonders.

I had someone ding my quarter panel on my e46. PDR was able to heat it up and gently push it back into place without damaging the paint. there was a slight wave to it (probably from the heat used), but it looked almost unnoticeable.

I remember it costing approx. $280 (billed the offenders insurance). they might do it cheaper not going through insurance.

I don't think its possible to do the above if the dent is on the crease of a body line. only if it is on a flat panel.

Just pull the inside door panel put th window up and see if you see the crease on interior of the sheet metal. Then get some body man shaping tools and have at it.

Unless you have some training in body work, just take it in and have a body man fix it. You will do more damage to the X while trying to learn a new skill. This forum is litter with people that tried fixing their X and end up with them doing more damage to the X.

With the new specialists that can remove hail dents, I would definitely start with having a paintless dent repair guy look at it before diy.
