At Sam's Club where I bought my AGM battery they have manufacturing date code stickers on each battery so you know how "fresh" the battery is.

I use one of these maintainers on every vehicle, generator and riding mower that I have and have always gotten great life out of my batteries and never experienced a dead battery issue:

Fairly inexpensive and good insurance when in northern deep freeze temps.

@semcoinc, thanks for the reply, to be frank I have got a ctek 5amp charger/maintainer and also a 3.8amp rated one from lidl (pretty big supermarket chain in Europe) your one looks very nice and tidy and compact though.

Man dates on batteries yes good point, suppose you could insist on seeing battery markings on purchasing an item...what does annoy me is the I found a bosch agm which is shown as having 5 year warranty in some european countries yet only a 2 year warranty here in Cyprus, digging around i see it apparently up to the discretion of the reseller what warranty he decided to give on items ..cheapest agm I found is 2117 euros the bosch same spec is 235 bit 2 years warranty. Gonna wait it out a tad longer and see how current battery holds up as temps drop.....luckily they rarely get below 5 C.

Omodos,

Sorry to hear the high prices in your country for AGM battery. My price for the Duracell AGM battery I bought was just under €150.

Even with international shipping from a US reseller you shouldn't even come close to €2000 for one.

I'll live thanks, and you are probably correct but once over here it is liable to extra taxes as it is an item that has arrived from outside of the European union, coupled with the fact IF the item for whatever reason is faulty I am stuck , cant just take it back means have to ship it back etc....so i think the cost benefits are outweighed by the risks
