Front Corner light failure
Background: About 3 weeks ago my drivers side front turn signal started rapidly flashing when I used it, thought a bulb was out and it would be an easy fix. The front turn signal light was indeed out. Pulled out the headlight, bulb was fine and put a new bmw socket in, still nothing. Wasn't worried at this point, I had ordered new headlights since the lens were beyond restoration. Fast forward to today, brand new headlights and still nothing. With hazards on, everything flashes regular speed minus the front drivers side blinker. Checked the rear taillights, didn't see any signs of corrosion.
In short: Brand new headlights, front drivers side blinker not working. Will never light up. Rear and side blinker on drivers side flash rapidly when activated. I am not getting an error on the dash telling me a light is out. Whats my next step. Thanks! 2006 X5 3.0 Halogen lights

The dash errors may have been coded out. Do you have any software tools to check, like BMW Scanner?
Regarding the non-operating lamp, if you have a voltmeter, it's probably best to start tracing the voltage, starting at the bulb socket and working your way back, via the headlight connector, to the LKM. Wiring diagram is here: - Left headlight only - https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...0i-sav/sv66ekc Whole system - https://www.newtis.info/tisv2/a/en/e...ghting/sahB1bw HTH...

Thanks for the response, I'll hook it up to the scanner when I get a chance to see if I can find anything

Update. Got a voltmeter on the headlight harness. On the working side I知 getting 14 volts and on the side that痴 not working I知 getting .5 volts on the amber light wire (with corner lights on steady burn). I知 a little confused now.

![]() So you say that both front amber corner lights ARE on steady but the drivers side doesn't flash? Or the driver's side (left) isn't on at all? If its not on at all and you only get 0.5v at the terminal then there's either a wiring fault or an LKM fault. It if IS on then are you sure you are measuring the same terminal on each side? The reading of 0.5v could well be a ground connection rather that the power supply.

Sorry for not being clear, fired off that update real quick. The drivers side corner light will still not light up, regardless of lighting position. When I had the corner lights on, I was getting 14 volts to the passenger side corner light (illuminated) and only .5 volts to the drivers side light (not lighting up). If it was a bad ground would the rest of my headlight function? Right now the only lighting issue I have is this corner light, everything else is working normally. Knock on wood

I would say on the side that has .5v use your voltmeter probe touching 1 socket connection and then ground the other voltmeter probe to ground on the vehicle. If you get normal voltage from either side you have a grounding issue.
