Do you remember your EQ settings? Do you crank the treble setting? I tend to on factory systems because they never sound "bright" enough.

ok, sorry for the delay everyone.. It's been a busy week and today was the only time I was able to take everything apart and have a look.
So I plugged back in the old system to check the settings and to my dismay they were already reset to default. Didn't look like it retained any of the settings, but I did turn down the volume all the way. Went back to plug everything back in and the sound was pretty much the same. I tested the radio and crash cymbals seem fairly clear on radio, but when I run it through the bluetooth I get a nasty crackle whenever a crash hits. For reference the songs I am using are Caligula's Horse - Dream the Dead and Bloom Silent Planet - random songs Tried another song that had good mastering because these are fairly good bands and Opeth still had some high hat crackle. Their albums mastering is really good and shouldn't present any problems. It's leading me to believe that it's the bluetooth connection on the Eonon that is poor quality. I'm going to email them and see what they are willing to do. Sound quality is important to me and I'm assuming this will impact the sound even if I bypass with new speakers and an amp. Any other suggestions are appreciated. |

Try a cd in it and see if it plays clear.

Let me find one and give it at try. I also tried another phone via BT. Currently Galaxy S8 and went to an Iphone XR to test.

Did a comparison between a cd and bluetooth. CD quality played fine no crackling. Could hear the crash along with positioning and the Bluetooth didn't have that and was overall distorted
Using Spotify on Wifi EDIT: Checked all my settings are they are set to Very High for quality in spotify Last edited by xskizzx; 02-03-2019 at 02:30 AM. Reason: added |

Well if the cd is fine the anything else is the radio and not the car. So that narrows it down completely at least
![]() When a wireless device is causing distortion its bandwidth related. This can be from a slow internet source or poor signal. Also processor speed comes into play. It takes processor power to handle the data coming in and then the data has to be converted on your end into audio which takes a bunch of processor power. When playing a cd the internal dac's handle almost all of the work so no load on the processor to speak of. I never stream music so I never had these issues to compare with. I put all of my music on sd cards and play from them.
