Sorry, the fluid isn't whitish red, I believe it to be red, though i'm also colorblind.... anyway, pretty sure its red. The whiteness that I recalled was the bottom plastic of the PS reservoir. Just did the hoses to the reservoir so now I REALLY need to figure out what kind of fluid I need. The pump is screaming with the engine just idling lol...
