You cannot just "re-sync" any key with the EWS. Matching a key to an EWS is a fairly full-on programming process that usually involves removing the EWS and attaching a programming system to the EEPROM chip on the EWS circuit board.

It's also highly unlikely that your no-start issue is related to the EWS-key programming. This "sync" between a key and the EWS is almost impossible the "break".

Given the issues you are having connecting to multiple modules in the car, it seems more likely there is a communication bus error that is stopping the EWS telling the DME it is OK for the car to start.

Probably best to start by sorting the bus communication issues first. Got any after-market devices attached to any data bus in the car? And as has been suggested in the other thread, check all the ground connections and other wiring disturbed during the engine swap.
