That's about a $200.00 DIY repair. You can have a trans shop install the Sonnax kits into the valve body if you don't want to buy the tool to ream the valve body for the new bushings.

I understand...... I drive different cars all of the time thinking to replace the E53 but the F15 and G05 X5’s just don’t do it for me each time I test drive one between the steering feel to the interior materials. I definitely have the oldest car in the neighborhood but I love the E53 along with my E39 M5 and will keep them forever as the E53 isn’t worth selling from how much it’s worth and how much I’ve put into it to make it next to perfect.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

@srmmmm brought up in a recent thread that considering all the original plastic and rubber parts Not to mention the hundreds of connectors housing thousands of contacts, that he would likely upgrade when a big ticket item hit.

You recently made the same move off e53 and far as I know it was in need of $0 of repairs. (lucky buyer)

I don't fall in love with a car(s) except my two Lotus.

This is one of the reasons why I'm keeping my two Europa.

https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...pa-twin-cam-5/

Not bad for a $1,000 and $3500 investment.

It's like buying NIO at the beginning of 2020 for around $2.00 a share.

I love but not in-love. My BMWЯ gets totaled I'll get a BMWЯ the sequel. The X5 chose me I'm in for life.

I know it's a simple part, and not that difficult a job to perform, but the escalation factor is too large with that many miles on the transmission. I have a buyer coming in from Wichita Falls and will see what his plans are for it since it just got tires, catalytic convertors and new O2 sensors in the past 6 months.
