80stech is on a distinguished road
If it was working before then you should go over what you did and you will probably find the problem. Maybe you have a wire pinched or not connected somewhere. If you have a look at a wiring diagram you might be able to better find out what the problem actually is
and how the P/N switch works. Also it might be better to get a BMW specific scanner and concentrate on the EWS code instead of trying to by-pass things to get the engine to start.
