Stalling on a computer-controlled fuel injected engine is usually a result of the mixture. If I had to guess the CCV diaphragm is probably torn and unmetered air is entering the engine.

The only repair shop that I know that uses OE parts is at the dealership.

When my siphon tube o ring was going bad on the 2001 m54, I got similar codes. I believe the expert has been replying to this thread. Could that be a possibility here?

Not a siphon problem unless below about 1/3 tank also of you hit the limit the car won't drive away nicely. If you get a restart it'll stall again shortly after.

That's a strong declaration, Upallnight, but I think you're right looking back at the time I used to take my vehicles to Indy shops. I now do my own repairs and I use mostly OE parts except stuff like oxygen sensors and such.

Same here X5only. I spend a little more for Genuine BMW parts but I sleep a little better at night.
