E53 vs E70
I'm getting up there in mileage with the 2004 X5 and have been looking for a replacement. At first I was looking for a lower mileage E53 but those are getting almost impossible to find. The other option was a low mileage(or otherwise) E53 that needed lots of mechanical (maybe even some body) work and restore it while mine was still running but even junkers are going for $3000 here. The best value (I think)and easiest option seems to be to upgrade to an E70. Low mileage E70's can easily be here had for under $10K. Any new input/advice, especially from those who have had both for a while?
