Fifty150hs is on a distinguished road
I have 272,000 miles on my 2006 3.0. I've spent plenty on keeping it up, but some things I've done weren't absolutely necessary, but my OCD wouldn't allow me to leave it untouched. An example is the mesh in the bumper. It was broken in a few places, but it was strictly a cosmetic issue, it was never going to make the truck unreliable. I replaced them anyway because i couldn't stand looing at it. Other stuff like suspension, bushings, gaskets, etc have all been changed at some point. Recently replaced the oil pan gasket. PITA, but worth it. I do all work myself except alignments and tire replacements. My goal right now is to take it to at least 300,000 miles and see how she's doing when we get there. IMHO the E53 is one of the best SUV's (I know its an SAV) ever made. The current X5 is an abomination to me and don't get me started on the X7. What a god awful ugly, oversized beast that is. I upgraded my head unit to an Avin Avant, so I have something close to current vehicle capability that I want anyway. So, she'll be in my garage for a long time.
