Exclamation Changing Angel eyes bulb results in a mess of disintegrating wiring

Hi all,

I went to change the angel eyes bulb in my Xenon lights and as soon as I disconnected the wiring I had the insulation literally disintegrate into my hands. I now have exposed wires all over the place which I've temporarily fixed by applying a bit of insulation tape however this needs a proper fix.

Is this a common issue?

What is the solution for the other side? I have bought a whole lot of headlight upgrades from https://lightwerkz.net/ and new lenses but i'm too bloody scared to go anywhere near the lights after seeing the insulation disintegrate!

This is pretty much what I'm planning on doing apart from new angel eyes LED.

Thanks all!
