If it ends up costing you only $65 bucks, I'd say you're one lucky dude! GL!

Yeah, after tough yesterday, I need that luck. I hope I find the original factory tinted window. Anyways, duct taped it for now, and I'm off to the mountain.

There is a way to get into the car and BMW assist should do it for you. Involves loosening the strip directly above the licence plate that houses the bulbs, activating a lever, and access to the vehicle is through the trunk, alarm does go off, but your key will be inside and alarm can be switched off.

How did the key end up inside?

Cheers,

That has cost you a window.
Remember people contributing to this board, really do know their vehicle spec quite well. Honestly, I am not surprised anymore by stealers' ingnorance.......they are pushing units, and that is all they care about. However on the rare occasion, do you find people who know there stuff.

Cheers,

Really think you should complain and see what they can do for you - they should know their cars better!!

Yes, I got the receipt with me:
Glue kit 83190147369 - $54
Door glass fixed 51348249929 - $62.50

I ordered a spare key also, $171.25 and they want $65 more to ptogram it.
I remember I saw someplace a DIY giude how to reprogram the key, so I told them I would take the key only, no programming needed. If I can't do it, I'll take it to them.
Good thing, I'll have a friend of mine to put the glass on free of charge.

Bruciebonuz, complain to who? They don't give a damn. They are independant dealers, and they have enough business to make money without selling me a freakin' glass for my door.
So, talking to managers will be a waste of time only. That's what I think out of my own experience.
Anyway, my spare key turned out to be $171.25+$54+$62.50, instead of only $171.25

You guys should learn and not make my mistake.

It's on the X5World front page, but I've cut and pasted it in here for you:

Reprogramming Key Fob

To do this procedure you need to have one working key and one key that needs to be programmed. With both keys, get in the car and close all windows and doors. Put working key into the ignition and turn to position 1 (the accessories should turn on). Turn the key back to position 0 and take key out of the ignition. Using the working key, hold down the unlock button, press the Roundel (lock button) 3 times, and release the unlock button. Doors should lock and unlock. With the new key, hold down the unlock button and press the Roundel (lock button) 3 times and let go of the unlock button. Doors should lock and unlock and you're done!!

Alternate procedure if above doesn't work or if you do not have a working remote:

1. Turn key to position 1 five times very quickly
2. Remove key
3. Hold unlock button then press lock button 3 times, release unlock button.
4. If you have another key do the same button pressing within 30 seconds
5. Turn on igntion to finalize
