I agree. Mine was doing the same thing until the stops were adjusted.

First use the search feature because there are plenty of threads about this.

Secondly; try putting some felt ontop of the rubber stops because they shrink up with the weather change. It's kindly like having an extra absorber.

Also agree. My 2-week-old 2006 X5 started making the same noises; - adjusted the bump stops a couple of turns each (careful not to adjust them out too much, otherwise hatch will be hard to close / or worse, the rear inner lights won't go off & drain yr battery) and.... Voilá - no more noise (for now.........)

I'd stay away from felt-taping as long as possible, for as long as the bump-stop adjustments do the job of killing the noise.
