I am impressed with BMW. They are pretty good to us owners even if your X5 is out of warranty. I emailed BMW NA off of their website yesterday. I received a call today from a nice guy from corporate. He assured me they would be able to extend some "goodwill". He said either he would call back or my local dealer would.

Another reason I am glad I have a BWM!!!!

I too had the problem of dead pixels and I sent an email to Lenora at BMW NA. Within two days, I received a phone call from BMW NA extending the goodwill offer to me, including no cost for the labor. I simply made an appt. with my dealer and got it replaced. One thing I would say though, is that if you have guage rings you installed, you will need to advise them up front to have them remove before the old cluster is discarded. However, they may choose not to replace the rings in the cluster, but return them to you instead.....depending on the technician that works on your X. All in all, the response and service was excellent.

Hi, my X5 3.0 also have the pixel short and missed at Hong Kong over two year. I call my dealer and they said due to the warrenty expired & they need to charge around US$2000 including part and labour. I found this forum and I hope I can do this at Hong Kong.

Would you please let me know the email address of Lenora? And can you let me have the reply from BMW?

I think this problem and the "Rain sensor bubble" are the manufacturer's defect on everywhere espeacilly the car before X3 born. But in Hong Kong, they do not undertake those problem and need us to pay. I found some car owner at Canada or other countries have same condition, can we sent the letter together to force BMW to face the problem?
