Nova: I think I am actually more pro OEM than you. I bought my car with a lot of 3rd party aftermarket parts and have been putting money into replacing these with mostly OEM retrofits. In the case of the running boards I do not like the OEM because they stick out from the car. I view my 4_6 as an M5 on steriods with xdrive, would you ever put running boards on an M5. I have driven trucks and SUV's all my life and this is one I do not see the need for running boards. Its a cosmetic thing in my case.

Two biggest downfalls I see in BMW step boards: (1) Price. (2) They protrude from the side of the car beyond the wheel flares and all other SUV/Truck step boards are underneath the car running behind the wheel wells.

It comes down to a matter of personal needs and opinion.

those have to be the best ive seen. it doesnt always have tobe oem. really sometimes it robbery with oem.

They are still available - check the group buy forum. The seller's email is there. Wayne from Bavarian motorwerks I think. should be $390 shipped to US. You have to get your own screws etc I believe. A few threads on these...
