Question Dinan Transmission Software
Has anyone got the Dinan Performance Automatic Transmission Software installed and if so what's it like? I would like to get this installed now that I have fitted the SMG paddles shift but not sure if its really worth it! I have both the transmission software and the SMG wheel installed in my 530 and love it! I only have the I6. I can't even imagine how much fun it would be the 4.4 X5!

I have both the engine software upgrade and the auto tranny upgrade on my 3.0i, and i have to say that I love it!! I am able to hit 60 in 2 gear to to the increased rev limit. I think it is about 6740 rpm.

Ok so two positive responses. Next question is, how did the install take place? can you do it youself?

No, you can't install the software yourself. You have to take it to an authorized Dinan dealer. They should charge 30 mins labour to install it. My stealership tried to charge an hour labour each for the engine and trans software until I pointed out on Dinan's website that it should be 30 mins.

Ok that could be an issues then as I cant seem to find any Dinan dealers in the UK or Ireland!!!

Birds in Uxbridge used to be a Dinan dealer,they may still be, but they are a very good BMW performance tune specialist, speak to them they are very helpful.

Ok thanks Pete! I know the do Hartge but never seen them advertise Dinan?

No, nor did I but when I was researching my supercharger options I had a chat with him and he mentioned he was a Dinan dealer, I think his name was Chris.
