Good idea, do you know of a strong velcro? Most of the velcro's I have encountered are not that strong.

I wouldn't put a front license plate on, it will just add to the baller-ness of it. Like if you have the money for an X5 you got the money for the tickets that come with it. (industrial strength Velcro will get the job done)

EDIT: mines off so disregard my sig picture

Sorry Ben...Just my 2 cents.
It's one thing if you actually get pulled over by a cop on the street for a front plate fix-it ticket, it's something very different when pathetic I couldn't even qualify to try out in the academy campus school police decide to write you up.

Honestly I've never had plates on any of my cars for the past 6 years and I have never been pulled over for it, and when i was pulled over for other reasons they never mentioned that it was an issue. If I was pulled over for it I'm sure I would keep my plate on because of the hastle you have to go through (getting it signed off by a highway patrol, going to court to pay the fee) now I've never had tickets issued at Universities but did get several back when I was attending community college and all I had to do was pay $30, nothing else..basically it was similar to a parking ticket. I even parked off campus across the street (metered parking) and these clowns still decide to give me a plate fix-it-ticket so I challenged it and got the ticket reversed in my favor. Even my business law teachers would agree with me that these guys are very uneducated when it comes to the law system..oh the stories I've heard..could go on and on and on

Each time its $30, I went to the magistrate to try to appeal the 3rd one because I'm getting seriously pissed when cars two next to me are not getting it but I am. Of course, the magistrate came up with dozens of reasons why the other cars might not have gotten a ticket. (just got there, officer didn't see) Then the magistrate told me I couldn't have been targeted because the cop sees thousands of cars a day. This is a cop that works on campus by the way. I do have my front license plate on my dash but that's not properly affixed!!! BS.

The magistrate said I could take it to court and basically have to pay for court fees of $21 each ticket or pay the fines of $30 each ticket. I paid the fines because I knew they would just jerk me in court if I go that route.

Question is that my license plate bracket from my regular bumper is different doesn't seem to fit flush because of the difference in the bottom of the 4.8is bumper. Is there a different part number? Can someone with the 4.8is with the front license plate take a picture of the bracket for me? Thanks.

I'm so pissed at the dumb cop. Don't you have better things to do?
Law is the law brother

I would rather have the plate on the car then on the dash anyway but that's me. I'm lucky, my travels usually take me around the PA/MD border, in PA they don't need a front plate. So cops coming from the front of my car usually assume I live in PA

Clever idea, then instead of a ticket for an infraction, you can be arrested for being a vandal. That will show him.:

I understand your frustration by getting 'picked on', but you knew the risk win you made the active decision not to put on the front plate.

Personally, a front plate doesn't bother me. I figure the overall effect is that it IS a public safety issue. Where here in CA it seems like I see an amber alert at least once a month where they post the plate # of the car etc. If the plate is on the front and the back, this doubles the chances of catching the kin napper. Also for other types of crimes it doubles the chances of somebody being able to get a plate number.

By no means am I trying to suggest you would do anything where someone would need to take your plate number for a public safety type of issue, but I don't believe we can say, "well you have a nice ride and don't want to mess up the cool effect so you don't need one".

In short, EVERYBODY should have one for the best interest of all. It may not be as 'cool' and nice but IMHO it's the right thing to do.

You can try their trunk storage velcro. I have used with success the industrial strength velcro for suspending over 2lbs of weight under my desk.

The velcro is a good idea...my friends use it when it is time for state inspections here in MA. I just have my plate attached, but my friend has a 350z with no plate and he got pulled for it...ended up being charged as a moving violation...I think he got 2 points for it...Massachusetts is a bitch if the cop wants to get you for the front plate!
