LeMans great suggestion about the velcro

I'll throw out another:

My friend owns porsches and the way he attaches the front plate is with 2 rubber plugs. He has these 2 rubber plugs that go through the screw holes on his license plate and wedge into the holes on the bumper where the plate should attach. The rubber plugs are like the ones we have in our door jams. They have a kind of wedge point that you can squeeze into the hole and then once squeezed in they expand and hold the plate in place. YOu can easily pull them out but they will hold the plate on while driving. He drives with the plate on his front dash and then when he parks he throws the plate on the bumper and then when he leaves he just pulls it off and rolls out.

I'm not exactly sure on what the plugs are or where you get them so the velcro sounds like it might be an easier way to go.

Good Suggestion!!

Thanks

id try the velcro. And i had a similar problem in my college and highschool years with campus security. I constantly got tickets because I drove BMWs. It sucked.

Its the same cop. Get a fcuking life. Each time its $30, I went to the magistrate to try to appeal the 3rd one because I'm getting seriously pissed when cars two next to me are not getting it but I am. Of course, the magistrate came up with dozens of reasons why the other cars might not have gotten a ticket. (just got there, officer didn't see) Then the magistrate told me I couldn't have been targeted because the cop sees thousands of cars a day. This is a cop that works on campus by the way. I do have my front license plate on my dash but that's not properly affixed!!! BS.

The magistrate said I could take it to court and basically have to pay for court fees of $21 each ticket or pay the fines of $30 each ticket. I paid the fines because I knew they would just jerk me in court if I go that route.

Question is that my license plate bracket from my regular bumper is different doesn't seem to fit flush because of the difference in the bottom of the 4.8is bumper. Is there a different part number? Can someone with the 4.8is with the front license plate take a picture of the bracket for me? Thanks.

I'm so pissed at the dumb cop. Don't you have better things to do?
I am guessing your state has laws that require you have have two tags displayed while the vehicle is parked?

Here in Virginia... you only need two tags if your rolling down the road. Having the front tag is so that the speed detection devices can bounce back easier.

I think your vehicle was targeted because the cop does not like the idea of a kid in school having a nice car. One that is better than what he is driving.

One thing you can also do it affix the tag to the car and take photos. Go to court and show you complied with the law. Often times the Judge will dismiss the ticket.

This is great a thread......NOT

It sure is interesting that such a great forum with tons of useful information has been reduced to WHINING about a license plate bracket.

This one time in band camp.... I saw this guy who staggered into the emergency room with a large gash on his neck. Guess what, he was drunk driving...crashed his car and his license plate (which had been on the dash) slit his throat.

GET OVER IT and INSTALL THE PLATE. OTHERWISE PAY THE FINES.

I agree

I read some other threads where people were clearly in violation.. driving their BMW autos like they were in Germany..

You violate the law.. no matter how minor.. you can expect to pay the price.

Keep the site for passing useful info... not complaints that are off topic.
