Best washing devise on an extension pole?

I like to wash my X using an extension pole. Since I'm somewhat vertically challenged, this works best for me - especially when trying to wash the roof. I haven't been able to find anything like this that works very well and I'm afraid that the brushes I've seen for this type of device will scratch the paint. Anyone have any suggestions including places to buy? I think some sort of a quality wash mit on the end of a pole would be perfect, but I haven't been able to find anything like that. Thanks! ...Jay

Why not use a step ladder and a hand held sheep's wool wash mitt?
Better angle, more sense of how hard you are rubbing, and a new/clean wool mitt, used gently w/lots of presoaking, won't scratch. That pole deal is for windows not car surfaces, imo.

Thanks MD - good suggestion and I actually do have a step ladder which I use when waxing the roof. However, I still prefer using an extension pole which I feel makes the job a bit easier and quicker. I found a cheap one with a very small wash mit at Autozone but I'm looking for something a bit bigger and more sturdy. It affords pretty decent control and I don't feel like or see that I'm doing any damage. I was just hoping that someone has something better than that.

Great idea - I'll have to check out Griot's - thanks again!

IMHO - winter is way too long anywhere! I just hate the cold and even more I hate the messy streets dirtying up my X! I live on the north shore of mass - probably not too far from CJ up in NH. We've had a helluva winter up here this year and it continues today with sleet, freezing rain, and even more snow expected tonight! I'll take 90 degrees, hot, and humid any day over this! I just have too much family around here and my kids are too well established around here for me to consider a move to warmer climates just yet. But, when my kids go off to college (5 & 8 years away, respectively) I'll seriously think about moving at least half way down the east coast, and likely even more! Take care and please, help me pray for heat & humidity!

what color is your car? if its dark, stay away from using the pole or other crap to wash your car. you will only be swirling up your paint or even worst scratching because of the extra leverage you have. spend the time to wash it correctly with the wool mitts, rinsing the mitts often to loosen debris that will scratch your paint.

you don't want to spend the time like i did to restore a screwed up paint finish to concours class...
