I tried this the other day, and when I slammed on the brakes and came to a stop, it made a rough squeal. I am not sure if it helped or not. Today, I went out this morning and powerwashed the rotors. I looked at the pads, and I was able to see some of the pad, and it looked like their was about a little more than 1/4 and inch of pad on the front and about 1/4 inch of pad on the back. I think my pads were changed back in March or April, I am not sure. I asked my dealership how much it would cost for new brakes and rotors, I do not think that these are covered under my CPO, and they said that it was $600 per side. |

it will usually make some weird noises when you do that but it does work
if you have a 1/4" you are in pretty good shape as far as pads go look for scoring on the rotor you may have some debris in one of your pads |

I tried the reverse thing a few times and it did not really help to much. I notice that whenever I drive a rougher, and brake heavier, the squealing will start.
It is not an even squeal, and will squeak in different places, or there will be no squeal, just a metal on metal sound as I come to a complete stop. I also noticed that I am getting multiple dirt looking lines on my rotors. I powerwashed the brakes a few times, and this is still happening. Is this normal, I am going out of town this weekend, on a road trip and I do not want to have any problems with my brakes. Should I go to the dealer and ask them to take a look at them? Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. |
