The X3 IMHO, is just an Okay car. There are many reasons I could never own one. It may drive like a BMW, but it just dosn't FEEL like one. The interior feels low-rate; and as this may have been adressed for the facelift, looking at early '04 models it seems that the X3's interior was not on par from the begining. And most X3 owners will use the excuse that the interior is bad because it is Sporty; but really there is no excuse. The doors are light minus the thud when you close the door. The E46 that it was based on felt way more on par with a BMW feel than the X3. And I see way more soccer moms driving X3's than 4.4i and 4.8is X5's.....

Long Live the Original....

They're different machines. I wouldn't mind driving an X3, especially the new '07 version. The X5, especially now with the E70, is more for families, I would assume. The X3 seems more for single people who don't need the extra room. Just because you drive an X3 doesn't mean you got it because you can't afford an X5. That was a useless comment.

You are absolutely correct - we all love the roundel! I have both an X3 (900 miles) and an X5 (72K miles) and I love them both!!! I can blow them both away with my foot to the floor of my 360HP 550i (7K miles) no problem at all. Who cares about size, cargo space, etc. Just buy a bunch of Bimmers and have fun!!!

If BMW added better materials inside the X3 then the car would be great.

For now IMO for a 30-40k+ truck the materials are on par with 20k cars.

Am I wrong? Maybe my eyes decieve me.
