X5 angel eyes kit

Hi,

Anybody had experience with bavarian_motorwerks on ebay? They have several angel eyes kits for different model and their X5 kit looks very nice. I would say it's by far the best looking kit for X5.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=7981100062

I've seen some pictures posted by other board members. Most kits use smaller rings on high beam which makes it look weird. Their rings look much better and the white color is what I want. The round rings on low beam are attractive too.

Anyone has purchased that kit from them before? How's the fitment? Is the installation hard?

They also have some front grilles and chrome gauge rings. I might be interested getting a deal from them for all these items if they have nice quality. Please share your experience with them. Thanks!

I looked that their AE configuation and it looks to me like the rings are the same size for both the low beam and the high beam. The only difference is the low beam is an an "O" shape and the high beam is in a "U" shape.

I have no experience with them so I can't give you any feedback, good or bad.

Dave,

Just check out your website. Wanna get clear about your pricing. You charge $900 for angel eyes kit installed on my existing headlights? What's the size of high beam rings in your kit? I love the bigger look rings on high beam side just like the bavarian_motorwerks kit because it matches better. Does your work come with warranty? I don't expect to spend another couple hundred bucks if any of the angel eyes rings fails.

What's your special price? I think $900 installed is still a bit steep to me. If it's a DIYable project, I might just get the ebay kit and do it on my own to save some $$.

i noticed one of the halos on daves site is smaller than the light itself. is that how it suppose to look? do the oem ones look like that? actually all the still pictures look fine. but the videos look crappy. i noticed the high beam in the video. the halo on that looks way too small. why aren't the ones in the pictures like that? I am interested in buying this really soon. but if that how they look all the time, i am not feelin that.

here are the pics....please explain why they are different and which way it will look if i order the whole assembly with the remote, and clear.

Yes. That's why I feel that ebay kit is more tempting to me. bigger high beam rings and round low beam rings(some people might feel it not good but I think it looks good from the pictures).

Any fellow member here has experience dealing with them? Just checked angel eyes DIY article on the forum and it doesn't look too complicated to do this install.

I do like the ones on ebay. my problem is, i do not want to put them in the assembly myself. but on the other hand, if dave would clarify the pics on his site. I would be happy. Some pics look like the rings are perfect and not smaller on one light. but others look like they are just dangeling over one light which looks retarded. I would never put that on my X5. I mean Daves tag looks Awsome!!! Check it out and then look at the pics that i pulled from the site. What do you get?

iceman,

I think the the angel eyes shown in Dave's sig is an E46 angel eyes. look at the left bottom, that shape is E46. not X5 headlights. E46 high beam area is smaller than X5's.

dave sold me the headlights and ae's over a year ago and im extremely happy with them as well as with dave's support of his product. i live on the other side of the coast (he is in MA and im in CA) and even as we speak, he is taking care of the AE's and providing support and replacement bulbs at a great price. you can trust dave, he's got my stamp of approval.

Wonder why Dave is not responding? Anyway, I just looked at the OEM lights and these AM just look fake. I would like the OEM look where the halos are the right size. I really think the ones on eBay look more OEM. Can you put the new 05 lights in a 01 X5?
