F-ing annoying problem

Common pain in the butt problem. I have had mine replaced three times!! Water gets inside the hatch assembly and it shorts out. Dealer will replace rear hatch handle under warranty. They had to order mine in and paint the trim piece to match. (Strip just below the rear emblem.) Nothing to do with your programming or menus!

since we are talking about hatches, mine won't open from the outside.these are my two possible ideas as to why this happens.1.i noticed that theres a big green blocky fuse missing in the trunk,looks pretty important so i figured that might have something to do with it.2.a wiring harness issues.i cant say ive found evidence to suggest this but i did notice my car does have wiring problems due to the abuse from the previous owner.any suggestions?

bringing this back up. My hatch has started doing this more frequently. What i have gathered from this thread is chase the wires for chafes and order a new outside mechanism correct?
