I have the xenons with the yellow corners but I've seen pics of the ones when they take off the yellow ambers and clear baffles but I am not feeling the bare naked aluminum look on the lights, each his own.

Yes, I feel neither. So maybe I just leave the full amber corner together with clear side markers and clear corner rear lights.

One more thing, I know that if I just put on xenon ballast and bulbs, the OBC will display warning text in the dash board, but does anyone know whether the xenon lights still work if I just ignore the warning text or the OBC will cut off electricity automactically to disable the xenon lights from lighting up?

The lights will work fine but of course they won't autolevel. There are numerous ways to get rid of the annoying message -- do a quick search as this was recently discussed.

The pair of xenon headlights are equipped with auto leveling motor, and my x5 is originally equipped with auto leveling system, so I can just plug the wire onto the new xenon headlights, then I believe that I will have auto leveling function.

In my understanding, I can just transfer the auto leveling motors from my old halogen headlights to the xenon headlights even though no motors are equipped on the xenon headlights.

I do not have the level sensor to make front suspension has auto leveling function just like the rear suspension, but since my x5 have auto leveling system on the rear suspension, so I don't think my xenon lights will glare at other drivers. Am I right?

Regarding the annouing alert message, I am think of installing a pair of Hella resistor, but I am still thinking where I can find a place under the hood that is bigger enough to install the 2 resistors and secure them well. Anyone has any idea? Thanks!

Instead of a hair dryer try a heat gun.

MY friend did it (on a Maxima with his taillights).

Yes you cant open 2003. You need headlights older than 10/02 (there is a little clock on the back and top of the light)

Nope. Hella changed the seals starting 10/02. Not a chance you are opening those up without taking a dremal and cutting them open, which means you will have headlight moisture from here on out. Every 03 X5 driver with angel eyes buys 2002 or older headlights on ebay.
