I always use my ebrake even on a level road. It helps keep the brake from freezing up from no use.

Definitely take your X back to were you bought it!!!

I always use my e-brake. I don't understand how people don't. Not exactly good for the tranny to rest the whole weight of the car on it like that, especially on hills.

I must say though that all my BMW seem to have a very weak e-break. Anybody else experience this?

couldnt have put it better my self.

i always use the e-brake when parking. (any automatic) i put the rig in Netraul, yank the brake and let the vehicle rest on the brake and then throw it in park. its never a good feeling when you shift outta park to hear the tranny clank. ouch.

about the break being weak, you can adjust it, or your pads are wearing thin.

Na, they were weak when I bought it. The only one of my BMWs so far that has had a good one is the 525i I just bought.
