New Tail light problem - please Help

Hello Everyone. I have a 2002 X5 with the fugly orange and red tail lights. I bought a set of used OEM tal lights. The lights were manufactured in April 2005. My vehicle was manufactured on 5/02. After I put the lights in the error lights keep coming on. Check rear lights and check brake lights. After two days of driving my radio would not play and the door locks would not work.

I see in the rear tail light upgrade section that there is a set of adpter cables for vehicles after 10/02. DO i need to get these adapter cables to make my lights work?

I changed back to the fugly lights and no problems.
Please help. I hate the old look.
Thanks in advance!!!!

Hmmm, I've never heard about this. Although I just ordered a set of E53 sport tails from Morristown for my 01' 44. So hopefully I don't have the same issue, although I was assured it would work. Perhaps you installed the crystal red/clear taillights and instead of the gridded ones. Because there were two sets of red/clears...

Good luck and keep us updated.

You most likely need to read this:

I replaced my rear lights. Similar to the ones you bought. There are 2 different plugs one has a 5 prong plug and one has a 4 prong plug. I don't know if that is what is causing your electrical problem but it may worth checking.

I upgraded my O3 X5 w/ OEM euro tails. Just complete plug and play. Error message only came out when my bulb blew out. No other electrical issues. Bring it to a dealer that can do a reprogramme
