VSM and bumblee camera helpp please
The grey wire(v12 cam) is supposed to trigger the VSM to turn on the rear view camera on my navigation screen. So i wired that grey wire to the + wire of my reverse lights, and all i got was no image just a bunch of flickering back and forth; So my question is, if i have a relay where should the grey wire go? Where should the + wirre from the reverse light go? and so on.. And do i even need the little piece of the kit, that has the inputs for video, and left/right audio inputs. or can i just connect the video cord coming from the camera directly into "video1" of the VSM (i did search a lot!) nothing helped, i need the direct instructions on what to do with a relay, and the grey camera wire coming from the video source module???

Hello,
same problem I had, you need to connect grey wire to relay to remove those bouncing stripes. and you don't need those RCA cable connectors, just connect the video cable coming from the camera directly into "video1" of the VSM. check this thread I posted before (especially page#7) http://www.xoutpost.com/x5-e53-forum/...?highlight=VSM |

The problem is that i could not find the purple/white wire in my cargo area to connect to the 12v red wire, but i found another 12v source that powered my VSM...
but thats not the problem; where would i connect the grey wire too; i already have 1relay wit these connections: the only connection i dont have is the pin17 connected RELAY CONNECTION i just dont know what to do wit the grey wire cause if i hook it up straight into the reverse light + it flickers

wuzin's correct - you need a relay to rid of the lines, most camera cannot take a direct connection. Simply use a bosch-type relay and you should be fine.

thanks very much wuzin; as u can see that relay that i have a link too, only refers to connections the positive leads for the camera and reverse light... it does not mention anything about the "grey wire" to trigger the rear view camera to turn on..
just check what is going on with your grey wire and where its connected too. and if it has any negatives or any other connections i should know about thank you sooo much

No problem imola,
I believe that relay connection is for OEM TV tunner. I remember that I've used other setup which I got it from Steve from EAS, too bad, I didn't take a note while he was helping me over the phone. |
