One would think that given the volume your dealer does with the local Enterprise branch their discounts would apply on most/all models in Enterprise's fleet.
Given the dealer's strategy to pay for loaners rather than hold 5 or 10 BMW's in inventory, I think they'd occassionally pay for a like kind Enterprise car if you pushed a little. After all; you ARE the customer. Granted, you're probably not going to get an X, but you may end up in a Volvo S60, Jaguar X-type, or even a 3-series. It never hurts to ask... worse dealer ever BMW of the Hamptons
My X5 was at the dealer once BMW of the Hamptons but they told me that if i wanted a loaner car i would had to wait about 23 days, so i told them ok we set a day and they came to pick up the car and left me a loaner on the drive way.. when i got up to go to work and i look out side so see if they picked up the X, guess what i saw on my drive way as a loner car
an old beatup ford mercury grand markee it had to be like a 1998 .what a shit as car, but i was not surprise by that because they REALLY SUCK from when i started the process of buying the X they where nothing but assholes, the only reason i got the x there is because it had all that i wanted and the price was very good. but i will never buy from them ever and don`t recomend anyone to do so, if in the future i have to pay $5,000 more for the same car at a different dealer i will do it before i go back to them (BMW of the Hamptons ).. and many other people had lots of problems with them. we all ways had nice loaner and good service from Volvo, Lexus and Acura! for my next service i`m going to the same dealer that my brother takes his X5 to see how everything works out with them. Thanks for all the input guys. I had an appointment for this last visit and still ended up with an enterprise surprise. I will deffinately check out the other dealers in San Diego. Harloff BMW is privately owned and may have their own policies about customer service. I have been told that at least one of the three other dealers in town is BMW owned. You would think with four dealers to choose from they would be competing for your business. Even if you didn't buy from them you may in the future, and they must make something on the warranty work and accessories.

ILL TELL U GUYS STRAIGHT UP...BMW SERVICE can be good or BAD depending on your luck. BUT when it comes down to it.BUSINESS Is BUSINESS AND BMW has watered down their name. MASS PRODUCING low end 3 series.
anyone can own a BMW. and if everyone owns one..then that means there arent enough BMW personel to service the MASSES...economics. Plain and simple. BMW SERVICE licks my left Nut..but im only into BMW for the engineers not for their service...its like a hooker. OVERPRICED and UNDERSERVICED, but u still want ONE. |

Like most others, I always get an Enterprise car. A crappy one at that. What bugs me the most is that the minute they see that you have a BMW slip in your hand - they always try to upsell. And since I'm always their "best customer"
, I always get their special discounts... like Escalade for extra $90 a day (regular $120 a day), or Freelander for extra $50/day, or Pathfinder for only extra $30/day. I hate that place, and I hate going to BMW dealers for service. Now, when I take my wife's Lexus in - that's a pure pleasure (but boring ride).

In the UK loaners only tend to be provided for the luxury car market.
My dealer (Henry Brothers in Glasgow Scotland) has always provided a BMW loaner, with a little notice, or will chauffeur drive you to and from you office (within a set radius) with a 'posh' suited driver/chauffer in a new 5-Series. I presently drive a 5-Series (X5 3.0d Sport on order). The loaners I got have usually been 3-Series, but have twice had a 5-Series, once got an X5 (which is what sold me on it), and once got a 1-Series. NO charge. |
