New member 2002 X5 5 speed Sport

Just stumbled upon this site.

I have a 2002 3.0 5speed X5 sport grey/green/tan leather all options except nav and parktronic purchased 2 yrs ago with 36k now has 55k and THANK GOD is covered by CPO.

I am the second owner and so far the following parts have been replaced:

A/C Control unit at 37k - CPO
Stereo control panel 41k - CPO
Water leaking entering passenger compartment at foot pedals and passenger footwell - Replaced sunroof cassette 43k - CPO
Water still leaking in heavy rains. BMW replaced the windshield and seals at 46k - CPO
Battery replaced at 46k - my $$
Bushings, baljoints and control arms replaced (not covered with CPO) at 46k - my $$
Engine wiring harness replaced at 49k - CPO
Alternator replaced at 50k - CPO
A/C component replaced at 54k (common failure item) - CPO

Are these common "failures" on x5's? or is 02 a lemon year?

I am coming up to my 60k service. The dealer quoted me $800. Based on what I have read here I am assuming I will need CV boots too. Can someone give me the dealer price on replacing cv boots? My CPO runs out this coming February. Anything specific I should look to have replaced before my CPO ends?

Also anyone have a beige "old style" cargo cover they want to sell? The one I have has stains and a tear.
