Question Stereo Volume

hey guys i posted this earlier but no one seemed to respond so lets try this again. on the stock head units w/o nav, it is possible to turn the radio on with the key out of the ignition, is that possible on the units with nav?

also on those w/o nav units the volume can be adjusted based on driving speed or road noise can that be adjusted on the ones with nav ? the reason i ask is that it just doesnt sound as loud as one might imagine for a system with 10 speakers (prem hifi) and a sub

the steroe cannot be run without the key in the ignition unless you have just turned the car off and neither of the front doors have been opened. Even then, I believe you only have power for a number of minutes. This is with or without nav.

The nav system does allow speed adjusted volume. I have not seen it in action yet, but I am sure that the functionality is the same as the non-nav.

it may not sound as loud as u want, but u can't say that it's not pretty darn clear. IMO, loud isn't all it's cracked up to be if it's not clear.

I am not 100% sure, but I just read the manual nearly cover to cover the other day. I thought that was the case. I will check again when I go home.

See http://www.xoutpost.com/articles.php?...icle&artid=163 - I believe the GAL settings controls this.

My MY2004 works the same way...turning the ignition off powers off the radio. Then, you can turn on the radio anytime after that without needing a key (with doors and/or windows open or not). The radio do have a 20 minutes timer to shut itself off.
