Two types of OEM running boards?? Pics attached.

I have a 2006 4.8is.
I ordered OEM running boards plus the fenders flares from Tischer. I picked up my car today after a week, I was out of town. But the ones I got are completely black and have a diff shape then the ones I have seen, the aluminum ones. Again, these are all OEM. My shop, not the dealer, said that the new fender flares would not fit well with them either, so the original ones are actually still on. Im rather confused, I kinda like the all black look, but I like the shape and fitment of the Al ones better, my mother in law has them on her X5.

If you look at the pics, you can see that they are shaped differently also. Are they like that cause I have a 4.8is???

Seems like the Aluminum style has part number 51710017315, and the ones that I have are 82110021342.

yeah dude u got the wrong ones,

U can get the alum ones but you have to get a special flare kit to fit the 4.8.

I believe the black ones are part of the BMW Aero Kit.. ??

So they sold me the flares for the aluminum style ones. This is annoying!!!

I kinda like the black ones, but now they need to send me new flares then.

Did you specify alum boards? flares can be had with either.

I didnt, but I was not aware that the black ones even existed, and the Aluminum ones are the only ones they listed on their website.
The flares have diff part numbers though, and I think that is why running boards are not fitting 100%. I don't mine the black ones since my truck is black.

The part numbers for the black running parts start with 8...., and so the the flares for them, and the aluminum running boards part #s are posted above.
