Two types of OEM running boards?? Pics attached.

I have a 2006 4.8is.
I ordered OEM running boards plus the fenders flares from Tischer. I picked up my car today after a week, I was out of town. But the ones I got are completely black and have a diff shape then the ones I have seen, the aluminum ones. Again, these are all OEM. My shop, not the dealer, said that the new fender flares would not fit well with them either, so the original ones are actually still on. Im rather confused, I kinda like the all black look, but I like the shape and fitment of the Al ones better, my mother in law has them on her X5.
