Check RPM Motorsports they do key and EWS replacement. Good descriptions of the issues. What they and the local locksmiths or programmers use is a AK90 programmer. They remove the EWS and plug directly onto the board. They are able to erase the 10 spots in the EWS if they are full. This is something that the dealer cannot do, using the factory software. BMW will tell you to replace the EWS.
