if you go to my independent mechanic i just pay him $12 for labor. i always buy the synthetic oil from autozone and a bmw filter and rings from BMW and I let him do the dirty work for me.

known him for years...mom/dad car was serviced by him, older bro and mine also serviced by him for over 7 years now. started when he used to work for a gas station repair shop...now he has his own shop and literally less than 15 minutes away from home.

Bimmerhaus in Denver quoted me $118.

My indy shop back in Maryland used to do it for $134...and I liked them...

considering that their place is in the heart of the silicon valley, pay the guy who would drive your car to their shop for a few feet, the guy who would actually work on your car, the SA who would take care and would call you, the car wash and telling customers that the next oil change is due in 15K miles regardless of your mileage, oh yeah, that comes up to $280. Did i tell you that you cannot wait, you have to come back after 5 hours or so. It's really crazy.

Yep, this is how much they cost at the dealer in Chicago. Those of you getting ripped off by your dealers (and apparently indies too), just spend 20min and do it yourself, it's not that hard.

Orange County BMW in Monroe NY by the woodbury common shopping outlets only charge me $99 plus tax for an oil service not just the change.

Park Ave. BMW in Maywood NJ also would only charge me $99 plus tax for the same oil service.....

280 is RIDICULOUS

I woulda done this to him

then got the hell outta there looking like this

I hope you didnt pay for that or
