I have paired my Sonyericsson P1i with my X5 2006 using the same procedures described in previous post. For the first pairing attempt, the P1i connected then disconected, I tried again it connected and disconected again. Then, I switch off the car and switch on again, after about a minute the phone automatically connected and the red LED on MID went off. So, it is working.

I dit the same with my wife's Sonyericsson M600i and it worked.

I don't think my BMW Assist even works. You hit the SOS button and the radio attempts to dial for 4-5 minutes. I think I may give in and buy a 13th generation bluteooth module. I'll loose the BMW Assist feature, but I'll never use it anyway. What is the production date of your X?

I actually have paired my phone to an assist module (combo). I do not have a pairing button.

What year is yours? Newer models may have the ability to pair via electronic means (I do not know) ... The 2004 model I'm fairly confident will not pair with out a pairing button.

I purchased a center phone console dock with the pairing button. I tried to initialize the Bluetooth with the pairing button, but it still does not work. When I pulled the Bluetooth/BMW Assist module out, I did discover another wiring harness with a purple/black connector with a small wiring harness.

No luck this morning...

I'll take it to the dealer and see what they have to say.

+1. I'd like to know what the dealer will say about the configuration issue.
