Inspection 1 or 2?

I was wondering if I need to take my X into the dealer or just take it to my Indy for this inspection?

Inspection 1 was done at 70k then came my oil service which was done at 95k, now at 103k I have the inspection in yellow come on. Do I really need to pay the dealer to inspect it or just take it to my indy. Thanks....

P.S. I've done my spark plugs at 90k and everything else you can imagin under my warranty.

You didn't mention if you are under a CPO warr. or, some extended
third party warranty, but regardless, I vote for the Indie.

My Indie spent 2 hours+ combing over our '01, with a fine tooth comb
when he did his version of Insp II. And, it was nearly half the price of
a typical stlr charge. I would bet most Inspections at a stlr are 30 mins
on a lift, during the oil change, a wash and a kiss...that's what constituted
my Insp One at a stlr, while under extended maint... Thus, I vote for the Indie.

Please excuse my ignorance but what is an Inspection 1 and 2. And what does it typically cost to have it done?

Inspection implies 'LOOKING' correct? so it can't cost much just to LOOK right?

My dealer wanted $900.00 for the Inspection II. Forget that man! I did most of it myself including the plugs which is a very easy DIY.

Yeah. This is what I thought. Thanks guys.... MD is right, indy is the way to go. I need an oil change any way. My indy wont charge me anything anyway. Just an oil change charge. Everything else has been taken care of so I'm ok. Plus she runs perfect...

I agree with MD, my indie does more than the 26 point check that the dealers claim they do when doing these inspections. My indie even told me that the transfer case was leaking and I had it replaced under warranty. And that's just from a regular oil change.

if you have Warranty Direct, isnt it required to have your X inspected (I and II) by the dealer only?
