Navigation Volume

Hi,

is their a way i can adjust my navigation volume to be independent of the stereo volume?

The problem am experincing at the moment is when i am in sat nav mode and am listening to the CD the woman's voice seems to overlap the music, it does not mute the music first as i thought it suppose to.
Also if the music is loud then the sav nav is also set at the same volume even if i had it down in the menu system.

can i anyone help on this issue?

Thanks

I believe it can be seperately adjusted, maybe try adjusting it while she is talking. But I know some things are different from US spec to Euro...

You can also adjust the nav volume from the settings menu on the nav unit.

You''re right it does not mute the music first and that's fine with me.
But as others have said it is in the settings menu.

with the radio turned on, press "INFO" and you should be able to adjust the volume of the nav voice from -9 thru to +9

Are you saying that when you press the MENU button and the screen below comes up...you don't have SETTINGS listed?

If you do, when you select it and press the right knob...you should get 2 pages of selections you can adjust...one of them is NAV VOL. ...if you don't get this...what do you get when you select SETTINGS?

Press the MENU button to bring up this screen below

You should then see the first screen pictured below (and from the Nav owners manual)...NAV VOL is the 4th adjustment down...press the right KNOB on the Nav...and you can then adjust the Nav's volume vs music/radio/CD/Tape being played...as others mentioned...lowering the VOL...the nav enunciates "softer"...raising the VOL the nav enuciates "louder":

Hi qsilver7
I do have settings "set" at the bottom and the volume control where nav sais "quieter". "Louder". However I believe this is different to the nav-min option

With the above the nav is just speak louder or quieter so if u have radio on loud she will just be quieter or louder over your loud radio

However the nav-min. Which u should be able to access from pressing "info" on the screen. Will control on a scale of -9 to +9
How much mute or no mute to put on. Radio/cd. When nav speakes
Eg -9 fully mute radio when she talk
0 would be just a half volume mute when talks and +9 would be no mute
At all on radio when she talks

Ah...I think I get what you mean now.

Getting into the service mode can be tricky...apparently there are multiple ways depending on some oddity of BMW model/BMW market???

Below are a couple of "service mode" instructions for Nav monitors...perhaps one of them will work for members out there having difficulty accessing the service mode:
