After a set of snows has been sitting all winter, the best thing to do before balancing is to drive them as Weasel suggested. Get them out on the highway and run them 30-40 miles to get them hot enough for the tread and belts to smooth out. The go straight back to your tire shop for a rebalance. If you have a flat spot from sitting all summer, this will help remove the flat spot and return to normal before balancing.

If however it doesn't get better, might ask if they can get Pirelli to prorate a pair of replacements as warranty.

BTW- Pirellis have always had a reputation for getting "flat spots" from sitting, even just overnight, Lots of Benz customers complained to dealers back in the early 90's about their Pirelli tires, and MB even issued a service bulletin to tell customers to drive the cars long enough for the tires to get hot and return their normal round state. The nylon belting Pirelli used was prone to this problem. If the tires wee OK before mounting on the new wheels, I bet this is your problem.

I would go and make sure the hubs are the right size and not just take eurotechs word on it as williamssk123 brought up ... as on BMW's the wheels are hub-centric, not bolt centric. It is imperative for the hub to be the correct size.

Yeah, Eurotech told me the same thing but sent hub rings with the wheels when I ordered them - I am assuming they were part of the "mounting kit" which also had lugs and locks.

True, but on the balancer it wouldn't matter what centering rings were used. I believe he said the tires had a hop on the balancer.

BTW- didn't BMW NA sue Eurotech for trademark or patent infringement about a year ago??

Yeah eurotech did get sued by BMW, which is why you (f16driver) can't seem to find them easily. But there are still some reps available online from various companies.

Are these the ones you're talking about?

Thanks weasle56 but those are not the wheels I was talking about. I want a set like you have on your black X5 pictured above a couple of post prior. I was looking for the 5 spoke version, which I thought JPG528 had purchased but maybe he got a different wheel?
