Covered with leather is a different deal. Painting interior trim is ricer and ghetto, really honestly, no matter how you look at it. I guess if you have 12 speakers in the trunk, 4 amps, and a ton of dvd monitors in places no passenger can see them, well it might not be ghetto to you then. You bought a BMW for a reason, its a nice vehicle, nicer than most any American made piece of steel on the highway. You more than likely paid good money for it, why not buy OEM trim and make it look right??? I think most any of us that have any car sense or mechanical sense at all realize the OEM trim is not painted............but when you go to painting interior trim, you better put several coats of clear to protect it from finger prints, conditioners, and the like. Painted interior pieces just do not hold up.........if they did, OEM supply would come painted. Enough said...LOL!!

Weasel will become famous soon enough
And judging from the pricing, unless you want to pay about $500+ for all new trim, and at the risk of ruining $1000+ of real woodgrain trim... maybe vinyl would be a decent option. At least one person on here has done that in recent with carbon fiber look vinyl and it came out pretty good.

Here's a link to OEM wood covered with carbon fiber look vinyl.

I don't see how having the trim custom painted is any less desirable than replacing the trim with the OEM Imola Red, Lemans Blue, Cosmos Black, Samana Beige, or Titanium silver trim.

Some people may prefer to color-code their trim instead of have wood. New trim is alot more expensive than having your existing trim painted and even if you wanted to pay for it, you can't get things like piano black from BMW for an E53. It's defnitely ghetto if you do a rattle can job with spray paint from home depot but that's not what we're talking about. Most of them people here want to execute mods as if they came that way from the factory.

Ricers will always copy styling cues off higher end cars. Angel eyes, carbon fiber, Xenons, etc...

Thank you again to all those who helped with the thread.

Here is the verdict. I went to a local Auto Interior business who have been around for years and are excellent.
They said they can paint or cover them in any material BUT, may not look perfect.
They're great guys who gave me honest advice.

I'm going to purchase OEM Graphite metalic trim or trade someone plus I'll pay cash my wood for their OEM Graphite or Ti trim.

For all you haters........Com'mon!......read threads properly.

SO....anyone want to trade and make some money?

I'm located in Toronto, Canada

I wander what year X you have? A lot of the trim pieces from the factory are painted and over the years the paint will start to peel such as the painted piece to open the center console and the door handle. I also know of many of the 2005 & 2006 E92 3-series with peeling paint on steering wheels and doors
