Want to paint my wood interior trim, advice please

Hi all,

I want to paint my wood interior trim graphite metalic and wanted to hear feed back from those who have done this in the past.
How did the finished product turn out?
How did it hold up over time?
How much did you pay to have it painted?

Thanks for any help!

Weasel will become famous soon enough
If you want to do this, I would recommend getting a good airbrush painting kit to do it. Presanding all the pieces with extra fine paper (600-1000 at least), painting it good, maybe a couple coats possibly with 1200 grit wet sanding in between if it doesn't lay perfectly flat (orange peel)Then clear coating a few times for a good deep shine.

I sometimes wish I could get the black (ebony) woodgrain like in the 6 series... that would be sweet!

First - is the trim actually wood, or just wood-finish plastic?

Second - LEAVE THE WOOD! Painting it would be ghetto for sure.

The wood is a real wood. Just took off a few pieces of trim just now and it looks cool. on some of the ends you can see the bare wood.

If it can be done, I was going to paint it OEM graphite metalic finish (like our door handels)

Wanted to know if anyone has done it successfully and how was the experience.

Im afraid of it looking gheto too, lol
if body shop says it wont look 100% then i'll buy trim to replace.

Why are some people so ignorant?
Drives me nuts to read a reply like yours.
That was a punk ass goof coment.

I asked a serious question on a forum that is set up for people to share info, help out, ask advice, etc & if people don't have somthing positive or constructive to say then simply do not reply.

Thanks to everyone else for your opinions

no reason for vulgarity, your response suggests a low rider would fit your mentality.

what's so ghetto about this? Graphite trim is an oem option, just like titanium.

there's loads of people on bfc that have done this on their e39.
