No dipstick...that's just stupid! Ever BMW I've owned burns at least some oil, my M5's being the worst of them all.

since around a week and the message "check oil eng level" kept poping up wenever i turn off the vehicle..... i didnt care much cause oil was just channged and didnt tavel mroe than 3000 on it.... i suspected that this would be a sensor problem .. till the pop up starts to show while driving,..... tghen lazy me decided to look into the oil level .... shocked!!!!!!!!! no oil at all, hardly there is some!!!!!!!! where did the oil go!!! no leacking at all anywher......!!!!!
any ideas!!!

Hopefully you learned to listen to the messages that it tells you instead of assuming. I don't know where it all could have gone, maybe you're just burning a larger amount of oil than most or maybe your shop mechanic is incompetent and didn't top off the oil level. I know some M5 owners who went around the same mileage as you and had the same symptoms. Nature of the beast sometimes I guess.

Agreed...received same message under hard braking. Installed new brakes/rotors and stainless steel braided brake lines...after several attempts to bed the brakes, she gave me the message. Indy gave her a clean bill of health and haven't seen that message since.
