Like mD said if it's in your price range go for the '04+ 6 Speed.
+1

My rpms are high at anything over 75mph. Go for the 04+ with the 6spd.
And yes, I have the manual dialed climate control, leatherette, and very few other options.

From what I remember, manuals are only on available for the 3.0 engines. No manual on the 4.4 and 4.8.

I always wished they made leatherette with a sport seat.

I have actually seen a 3.0 Sport Package with stick and No premium. just black all around.

I think the premium package included an Automatic trans, and that's why we're only seeing this combo.

I wish our old '01 was a 6 speed, too...

They goofed it up though: the '04+ 6 speed simply has a slightly
overdriven 6th gear; they could have made 6th even less of a ratio,
imo, and they kept all the other gear ratios identical to the 5 speed.

Keep hunting Daka...you will find one and really enjoy, imo.

I have a 06 with all the options available, Sport package, premium package, rear air bags, original BMW entertainment DVD, CD changer, xenon headlights. I will keep mine for long time, drives like car, my only disappointment is with the service at my local dealer.

the only thing i don't like with mine is that 1st gear seem to be useless, as it does not pack too much power making me shift right away to 2nd. Also, no short shifter or urethane bushings available to make it better to shift.
