Here's a tip for you..... Buy a $8.00 battery shut off switch from Advanced Auto (it's the round type with a big red key) also buy the shortest battery cable they have (mine was 7 inches) disconnect the neg battery cable from the ground (not the battery post), bolt that to the new battery switch, bolt the new short battery cable to the other side of the switch and to the original ground location. Use electrical tape to wrap up the terminals on the bottom of the switch and ..... wa-la you have just made battery disconnect switch. unlock the doors, turn the switch and the battery is disconnected, take the red key with you (now no-one can steal you ride). The next time you drive the car turn the red key on and the battery should be strong and start the car. I have used this in my Z3 for many years and it works great. A STRONG word of warning..... when you disconnect the ground side of the battery, there is absolutely no way to energize the electrical system in order to use your fob to unlock the door, even the technique I gave to Love will not work...... SO BE DAMN SURE the doors are unlocked before you slam them shut! It will most probably require the breaking of a window

Check your PM - I sent you instructions on how to get into a vehicle in your condition without doing any damage or breaking anything.

Ucrew's solution will work but you do need some special tools. and there is a chance you might end up damageing your vehicle, no matter how careful you are.

You don't have to order the tools. Most towing services will have that in their truck. Just call them and have them come out. If you have AAA or roadside towing then it's paid for.
